The keyword in this post is RATINGS! I guess this is just a WordPress kind of day, considering my last post. Since I have had this blog, I have been looking for a good star rating system for my posts. It’s a great way to get reader feedback.

Every plugin I tried though, either didn’t work, didn’t work with this particular blog, or just looked like junk. Finally, I have one, and I did nothing to get it!

PollDaddy Plugin

A couple of weeks ago, I updated my PollDaddy plugin. I was running a new poll, and I wanted to make sure it ran correctly. Being geared on the poll that day, I didn’t even notice the little extra the plugin gave me. It gave me a rating system for my posts.

The plugin worked great the first try. Feel free to give it a try, the stars are right below this post.

UPDATE: On Feb. 9th, 2010. I deactivated it. They keep updating it, and it has gone from valid code to invalid. Once they have a more stable one I will reinstall.

I use a poll system too on my personal blog, but I didn’t opt for PollDaddy, instead I went with a plugin called “WP-Polls” by Lester ‘GaMerZ’ Chan. Just thought I’d share is all.

    Till then,

    Jean

    • In regards to polls, one thing that really bugs me about PollDaddy is it only allows your poll to be displayed once on a page.

If I put in in a sidebar for all to see, and then try to add it into a post, it only shows up in the sidebar. Kind of stinks to have a poll in a post, and only give a link to it.

  2. Im using democracy plugin for poll. What do u think which one is best?

  3. this is much better than democracy

Never heard of Polldaddy before. I’m going to see if it’s available for Drupal users. Looks cool.

  5. Polldaddy is much batter than wp-poll plug in

How to rate posts for one Categorie only? Ex. for cat_ID = ‘1′

    • That would require a custom hack that you could do two different ways.

You could simply stop using the plugin, get the HTML from Polldaddy’s site to insert into your single.php page on WP, and then only load it based on your if statement.

Or you could edit the plugin itself. That is what I would do, and use the same if statement.
