Web Host

I found an affordable web host today that has charges similar prices to my own service provider, but gave a bunch more storage for the price.

The company is McKremie, and they are a hosting company. What caught my eye was $14.95, and 15GB storage space. Of course they support the package with 3,000 GBs in data transfer a month. I’m starting a new avatar site soon, and I’m am going to need storage space in a big way. This may be the ticket for me. Image hosting sites do have their drawbacks, bandwidth.

Their basic $9.95 package offers: 5 gigs of data storage, 1,000 GBs data transfer, and mysql database. It has a few other features that are basic to most hosts. The $14.95 package comes with a eCommerce Shopping Cart which is also a great deal. Besides renting server space you can also register your domain with them for just $9.95 a year. GoDaddy just nailed me for $14.

I have yet to test server speed with these guys, but if it is fast, this services seems like a great deal to me. There is one thing I particularly liked, and it is free to use. Checking domain name availability with them is quick, and the WHOIS information pops up almost instantly when requested. Most places you have to type a captcha, or wait a few seconds to get the WHOIS info.
