Usability in the News

Doing some research on what is hot and what is not, I was inspired to add a new section to the home page for this site: Usability in the News.
The section will have links to two leading stories or articles that are about web usability or design. Content will be semi-periodic, at least once a week.
The Research
Keeping it brief, the research I was doing revealed a breakdown of popular websites by industry. Ordered by importance here are the top 10.
- Social Media – sites like Facebook, Twitter, and blogging environments
- Search Engines
- News
- Shopping
- Multimedia – Video and music
- Services – Banks, Netflix
- Portals – ISP home pages
- Image hosts
- Review Sites
- Entertainment

nice list great work again
In what context is “importance” used? Number of visitors? Time spent on the websites? Link into the websites? I mean, Twitter is popular, but is it important? I think the clue is in the name…
Guy.
nice list… Just wondering on Social Media is ahead with the Search Engines..
Sounds like a great addition to the website, looking forward to reading the content you put out
Till then,
Jean
Great list, and a good addition to the site.
Social Media – sites like Facebook, Twitter, and blogging environments, the most important
This is a great idea and addition to your blog. I look forward to seeing the posts. I think it is good to keep current with your content.
I had taken that off my list. But i just checked it and ti is back up! Good news aye?
I guess you like my comments enough to copy them. Where is your originality. there is nothing in here that needs to be taken off and they are not talking about a site that went down. maybe you should read the things you are commenting on.
Great list, and a good addition to the site…
Thanks..
