Tweetmeme Doubling My Twitter Traffic

I may be jumping the gun here a little. This morning I decided to take a look at my stats to see how the Tweetmeme button is working out on this site since I added it. If you look at my past posts you will see that the button itself has not been heavily used, but the important thing to note is that it is being used. Just one tweet by a user with tons of followers could dump in some real traffic.
So what did the stats say. My Twitter traffic more than doubled. It went up by 136% to be exact. I added the button just in the beginning of this month, and comparing equal time back it appears to be obvious that it is working. The graph was a spike up, and has stayed there. When you use Tweetmeme, select bit.ly for easy tracking on their site.
Doing a little more digging into it, I wanted to make sure it was not just a surge of people downloading my toolbar. It wasn’t. It was new visitors hitting the pages that had been tweeted. A total success.
Come January I will give a full report on it. I usually prefer to have at least a month of data before giving advice on it, but this one seems pretty sure to be a great add-on for the site.
Anyone else having great success with the Tweetmeme button?

You’re right it’s not all about quantity. A few (or one) good quality hit can make all the difference. It will be interesting to see the stats in January. Thanks!
That’s convincing!
Might be just what I need to push me off the fence.
Find people who have the same interest, naturally not all people in Twitter have same interest as you, you won’t get much attention from people who love science if your blog theme is about making money online.
