Over the past year or so I have kept in close contact with another webmaster in the UK, Temi Odurinde. Temi is a successful webmaster, especially in the forum industry, and is also the owner of Boss Cart, a popular shopping cart software. I have done a review of Boss Cart software in the past, and you may be hearing more about it soon. A little hint here, freebie promo! What I wanted to mention though is the fact that Temi has a web hosting blog that some of you may be interested in.
Industry Professional in Web Hosting
There are a ton of blogs out there about where to host your site, and many/most of them are basically just referral plugs where the site owner is hoping to make money of the leads. Temi on the other hand, is an IT professional with a MSc in Internet Technology. He has other qualifying reasons to be considered an industry professional, but his in the field background should be more than enough. That said, know that his blog isn’t full of referral links to other web hosts. It’s full of actual advice, industry news, and real information for webmasters that take hosting seriously.
Temi has a large number of personal sites under his belt, has even more that he manages for clients, and as a SEO consultant on the side gets to see how even the slightest changes made on your server can effect your site. Additionally, because of his experience in developing Boss Cart has a good idea on how to do things securely. One particular good post he has is about PCI compliance. If your site is processing credit cards I would definitely read it.
A Little Face Lift
Those of you that already follow Temi’s blog you may be happy to know that it received a little bit of a face lift. Taking some advice from myself, and implementing a new theme has resulted in an instant bump in traffic for his site.
