fiebugI had a pleasant surprise today to find the Firefox just updated. You can get the latest version, 3.6.2 here: Firefox 3.6.2.

What’s the big deal. None really, mostly just security fixes, and some stability issues. One worth mentioning in regards to stability was that some users were not getting notified that their extensions may need updating after upgrading to 3.6. Continue reading »

I saw this headline found on Yahoo today, and I can’t help but saying…Duh. Most kids don’t like to read. The article, “Is Blogging a Slog? Some Young People Think So” was about how researchers found out that young people don’t like to read long blogs or articles anymore. Like they ever did. Comically written in a nearly 1,000 word article, I guess the young people today will not be reading it.

To ensure that this post is short enough for everyone to read, I leave you this picture to do the talking.

Looking into my little feed issue I was having with Feedburner yesterday…get my latest post titled “Invoice”? You were not supposed to. Anyhow, looking into it, I found Socialize. Socialize appears to be a new service for Feedburner for posting your feed onto Twitter.

Where Is Socialize?

To find Socialize, simply log into your Feedburner account, go to Publicize, and then go to Socialize. See the screenshot I took below. Continue reading »

I may be jumping the gun here a little. This morning I decided to take a look at my stats to see how the Tweetmeme button is working out on this site since I added it. If you look at my past posts you will see that the button itself has not been heavily used, but the important thing to note is that it is being used. Just one tweet by a user with tons of followers could dump in some real traffic. Continue reading »

No user testing here. I just installed the Twitter Retweet button on to my blog, and am going to give it a try. I can’t ignore it anymore. Looking at many of the top blogs out there, that button just keeps subconsciously saying to me, “Add this to your blog”. I finally did it, and you can find it on the bottom left of this, and every post I’ve made.

I use WordPress for this blog, and if you do to, the easy way to install this plugin is by simply searching the plugin archive through your dashboard for the plugin titled: tweetmeme. Then you are just one click from having it yourself. TweetMeme supports several other applications besides WordPress as well. Continue reading »

pivotFor those of you that use Google Analytics for your website, you may have noticed the new addition to the view bar. It’s the Pivot function. This little button can work wonders. It is a fantastic tool for quickly seeing where your visitors are coming from, and to see what’s their favorite content from those sources.

Back in September I wrote this post: Targeting Sources for Better Visitors. That post was about getting more page views by tapping into the right audience. Using Google’s new pivot option, you could drastically improve your understanding of your audience. Continue reading »

Having a little fun with the bad code on Twitter, I took this screenshot for you. Yes, I mean no, I mean, well here it is. A screenshot of my twitter account with me following (-11) . Continue reading »

If you use WordPress for you blog, and are looking for a way to really make your Twitter feed alive then you need the add-on Vikinghammer Tweet. I just installed this, and am completely jazzed on what it can do. I was also happy to find it because if I didn’t, I was going to have to build it myself. What does it do? It tweets your blog posts (already been done I know), and it tweets comments made on your blog (this is the good stuff). Continue reading »

As many of you know I developed the Twitter Toolbar for Firefox a while back. Downloads are going well, and usage just keeps going up, up, up. It also means more traffic for me. Each time someone tweets with it, I get a link to my site, and for everyone that has the toolbar, they can find bookmarks to my site. Basically, I get traffic out of it, and until just recently I got massive backlinks from it. Did Twitter make a big mistake by adding nofollow? Continue reading »
