I may be jumping the gun here a little. This morning I decided to take a look at my stats to see how the Tweetmeme button is working out on this site since I added it. If you look at my past posts you will see that the button itself has not been heavily used, but the important thing to note is that it is being used. Just one tweet by a user with tons of followers could dump in some real traffic. Continue reading »

No user testing here. I just installed the Twitter Retweet button on to my blog, and am going to give it a try. I can’t ignore it anymore. Looking at many of the top blogs out there, that button just keeps subconsciously saying to me, “Add this to your blog”. I finally did it, and you can find it on the bottom left of this, and every post I’ve made.

I use WordPress for this blog, and if you do to, the easy way to install this plugin is by simply searching the plugin archive through your dashboard for the plugin titled: tweetmeme. Then you are just one click from having it yourself. TweetMeme supports several other applications besides WordPress as well. Continue reading »

As many of you know I developed the Twitter Toolbar for Firefox a while back. Downloads are going well, and usage just keeps going up, up, up. It also means more traffic for me. Each time someone tweets with it, I get a link to my site, and for everyone that has the toolbar, they can find bookmarks to my site. Basically, I get traffic out of it, and until just recently I got massive backlinks from it. Did Twitter make a big mistake by adding nofollow? Continue reading »

Forget search. I’m talking traffic. With all the hype about Twitter I believe some are getting a little unrealistic about it. Twitter search better than Google? Heart beat of the world? We will be the first with one billion users? How about, give me a break, Twitter is half way dead.

Let’s look at the traffic, and let’s look what Twitter has to offer. If you do, you will quickly see Twitter is way over rated. Does this mean Google wins the battle though? I don’t think so. There is another, and it does have the heart beat of the world, and the traffic to support my claim. We call it Facebook. Continue reading »

If you are new to Best Web Image, you might not know that I developed a Twitter Toolbar for the Firefox web browser. It let’s you submit tweets on the fly, and makes it easy to tweet the pages you are on as well. Since I made it, it has been growing pretty quickly in popularity, and out of the 6,000 plus clients it has been recenty ranking in the top 300. Well today, it might have just got a big boost.

The guys at Mashable, a popular blog, just wrote an article titled, 20 + Great Twitter Tools for Firefox. They grabbed the screenshot from my site, using it first to show an example of a Twitter tool, and listed it fourth in their client list. Obviously, Best Web Image got a little boost in traffic today, and hopefully the Twitter Toolbar will really start rocking now.

If you use Twitter and Firefox please give it a try: Download the Twitter Toolbar

If you decide to use it, let me know, and I will follow you. http://twitter.com/camp185
