For those of you that like to watch YouTube videos on your iPod, or are just looking for a way to save those YouTube videos to your hard drive, you might want to try TubeFavs.com. TubeFavs converts YouTube videos into a variety of formats that you can download.

All you have to do is find the URL of the video you like on YouTube, and then simply copy and paste it into the form on TubeFavs.com. I tried it on a few files in a variety of sizes, and found it rips and converts pretty quickly. While converting it said that it could take as long as five minutes, but never did, even with a ten minute video I found. One issue I did have with the site, is that the download link was not obvious after finishing. It’s there, you just have to look for it.

It can convert the video into avi, mov, mp4, and the audio mp3 format so you should be pretty convered using a pc or mac. Free to use, but be sure to read their Terms of Service. You don’t want to break any copyright laws!

PC owners envy Mac owners? I don’t think so, but I love my PC’s. If you are a Mac owner though,  AppleLife might be a great place for you. AppleLife is a blog about everything Apple, and I don’t mean just the computer. I mean: the Mac, the iPhone, the Apple TV, the iPod, and more!

If you visit the site you will notice two things after a little digging. The first is that it’s a new site, and second, the author loves Apple products. The fact that it was a new site was pretty easy to figure out when I read the About page. Don’t skip the site just because it’s new though. There has already been a ton of articles posted in a short period of time, and a new article was posted just yesterday. There is product reviews, comparisons, and tips for your Mac. There is a news feed to keep you up to date, and a little tag cloud for an easy search of keywords used in the articles.

The post are informative, and the comparisons are fair. I hate it when someone compares products, and they don’t compare apples to apples. This site does it right and compares fairly, though I think the PC vs. Mac article might be a leaning to one side a little. The articles are interesting, and will hold the interest from a new Apple owner to a technical Apple owner.

When it comes to marketing you have to give credit to Apple for getting their customers to fall in love with their products, and in all fairness I fell in love with computers when I learned Basic on the Apple I thirty years ago. So, if you are one of those Apple fans, I think you should probably add AppleLife into your bookmarks. New info, helpful tips, and fair reviews.
