Busy marketing your website? Live in Chicago? LinKernel Business Directory is a new web directory with a slight twist. First, if your business is based in Chicago Illinois, you can list your site for free (see item #15 on their FAQ page). Second, the twist to this directory is that it also supports article submissions as well. Getting articles that you write on other sites is a great way to get free referral traffic to your site for free.

Web Hosting IP’s

Being that the new year is around the corner I am sure many of you have the goal of improving your Google’s Page Rank. Some obvious tips, don’t get too spammy with your favorite keyword, and keep that new content coming. There are some hidden pitfalls though, and some of them are not that easy to spot.

One PR killer can be the simple switching of the IP address for your server. Over the years I have had a couple of sites simply tank after I upgraded my servers. The results were new IP’s, I didn’t even think about that, and I got a sudden drop in PR. I also learned from that lesson PR isn’t everything. I still receive great traffic for those sites from the search engines. It’s hard to think about long term decisions for the things we do online, but when picking out where you will host your site and how will you host your site should be big ones. WebHostingRating has a lot of web hosting articles that go into more detail about the effects of PR and your server’s IP. What’s the PR of your hosting company?

Another killer is hosting several domains on one IP. It’s common practice for hosting companies to do this, but you may get some SEO guys telling you that ideally that IP should be all you. It’s similar to registering your domain for ten years or life.  You are descretely giving your site authority by appearing as a professional orgarnization, and not as a turn and burn site.

So you have spent hours working on an article, you post it on your blog, and think, “This article is so dang good I could make money off of it.” Before you start selling it, or submitting it to eZines or whatever, do you want to give them the exact article that you wrote? You could save the best written version for yourself, and then sell the pretty good version. Why not use a free online article rewriter?

I thought it was a little funny at first, going to a site called Bad Article Rewrite, but really it makes sense. Why give away your best work to someone else? What they do is replace synonym’s within your article. They have three levels or rewriting, bad, worse, and worst. Bad is most likely the one you will use because the article will still closely resemble the original. The worse, and worst levels I think are for those bloggers whom blog just for money, and really don’t care what content they put in it.

To use the site you do need to use IE, and not Firefox. IE works with your Microsoft Word application to change the grammar. I had a little trouble at first, but the author of the site was responsive, and helped me out. He said he is also working on a new version of the site. Hopefully it will support Firefox.

The website contains a lot of in-depth articles, which explain the exact steps required to profit from these money making ways.

Recently the Paid To Review website has added various guides which explain how somebody can make money from setting up their own free website, or blog. This basically involves opening a free account at a blog provider website, and then adding some kind of advertisements or affiliate programs to the blog. By doing some basic free promotion of your blog, you could then start to build up traffic to the site, and earn some money every time one of your advertisements gets viewed or clicked.

So although the website used to simply provide information about making money using various websites, it now contains some more in-depth guides to earning money by setting up websites and blogs, which is a little more technical then simply answering paid surveys, writing product reviews, or even by using cashback websites. Perhaps you had read a guide on the Paid To Review site but hadn’t fully understood it – you could simply post a question in the forum, and someone is bound to help you out. Adding a forum to the site has increased the interactivity of the website, finally enabling the visitors a chance to discuss the many ways to make money online. However, the forum has only been active for a few days, so activity is still pretty quiet, but due to the popularity of the Paid To Review website it shouldn’t be long before the forums are very busy.
