We’ve all heard the term, and we will most likely see ads with sexual content for years. Sex sells. Any automotive magazine can offer a wide varitey of proof of that. A girl in a bikini leaning on a cool looking car? Yep, you can pretty much bank that it will get a guys attention. I would love that kind of attention for my site, but I’m sorry, it would be a little off topic.

Sex Up Your Site

Using this eco friendly furniture store as an example, you can see a classic example of making your site a little more sexy. Sex sells because the images catch your attention. If you sell products online, the best way to improve your sales is by having some of your best selling products on the home page. To enhance that even more, use the sex sells concept, and include a picture of the product. I may have skipped right over this site, but that kitty on the bed caught my attention. Looking at the price of the cat bed I decided I didn’t want, but it did get me browsing. Mission accomplished.

Imagine going to this site, and finding only a entry page that says something like “Welcome to our furniture store.”, and then you are forced to use a directory to look for stuff. Do you think their sales would drop? Oh yeah.

  2. Thanks John,

It does make a big difference. I’m still looking for that right pic to bring this site more to life.
