I forgot, I can’t remember, all that information I find on the web. The internet is a never ending source of information that is constantly growing, and pretty much every website out there has information about one thing or another. How good is your site in conveying that information? I recently came across a camera website that had lots of great information about each camera, but it had a problem. My memory is limited.
In using the site I had to keep going back and forth between pages comparing the products. I admit that I don’t have a photographic memory, and memorizing 20 different points about a camera to compare against another is just not going to happen for me. I think this is the case for most people. So how do you make a great site even better? Create comparison charts, or even better, let the visitor create their own comparison on the site. This isn’t a new idea. It’s going on right now on over a thousands websites, I’m sure.
Web surfers are becoming more sophisticated, and are learning to expect everything from a website these days. You could be losing sales just because your site is simply one feature short. Adding side by side comparison for products is a reasonably easy task for a webmaster to create, assuming the data is in database form. The alternative could be two windows open, one that has your website in it, and one with the competitors website it. Now there is a side by side comparison you don’t want.
