I was hoping to write another post today with double the memory in my computer. I decided this morning that it was time to get some more memory for this aging PC, and I figured the best place to go was Fry’s Electronics.  Big whoops on my part.

So the first thing Fry’s took from me today was time. I lost the time driving there and back, thirty miles round trip. I blame them for the time lost getting help, I ended up helping myself, and I blame them for the time I will have to go back and hopefully get the right memory.

It’s been a while since I had been to Fry’s. I usually try to avoid it. Today was a good reminder. After telling the clerk what I wanted, he couldn’t find my PC to figure out the exact memory I needed. So I basically took over his PC, and directed him to my computer. In his defense, it was listed in alphabetical order. He then printed out the detailed information needed so I could get it from the cashier.

After giving the cashier my print out she told me she would be right back. She had to get it from the “Cage”. Waiting a little longer than you would expect she gave me the news that they were out of new ones in the box, and all they had left was one that a customer returned. I should have denied them there, because this memory card will returned for the second time.

Having to return it wasn’t really what tanked my day though. It was the expectations that I going to have it. When I got home, I quickly turned of my PC, took out the old memory, got out the new and upon opening the package could already tell they gave me the wrong kind. Denied memory upgrade today. What makes me more mad? Double checking the receipt, and seeing they they clerk did at least print out the right one.
