One of my favorite online tools I like to use is SEOCentro’s Meta Tag Analyzer. Simply type in your page URL, enter the captcha, and whamo, a ton of information.
The tool starts off by giving some basic heading status information, and also includes Google’ PageRank. It then lists all of the meta tags used, followed up by their score. They give a numeric score, 100 being best, for each tag based on several factors. I pride myself on achieving 100% for all of them. It’s actually an excellent tool for developing a great meta description tag.
SEO Power
The tool really kicks in with it’s SEO power. Because this Meta Tag Analyzer was developed by an SEO site, the details get crazy.
Here are some SEO items the analyzer finds as well:
- Load time – Now becoming an SEO issue.
- Snippet preview – How your page is seen as a search result
- Keywords found in anchor tags
- Keywords found in image alt tags
- Keywords found on the page, and their density
- URL’s found and listed
After running this analysis I can almost guarantee you will be doing some tweaks to your site afterwards. A killer online tool, that is absolutely free.
Try SEOCentro’s Meta Tag Analyzer for your website.

Do the first five words count the most? What are the best rules to follow when creating the title meta tag? Are there any best rules to follow?
Here is detailed info about writing a title for your page: http://www.bestwebimage.com/archives/title-of-site/
Limit the number of two-letter words and very common words (the, a, and) because search engines ignore them.
LOL, Robert. Why are Captcha’s evil?
Nice find on the tool, BTW. Sometimes blogs can mangle meta tags which leads to them getting poor rankings. It’s good to check your Meta tags once it a while.
Guy.

Guy.
Not a bad find, but I have a FireFox plugin that does this for me. It’s called Swoosty. I also have the SEO for Firefox plugin, but I don’t use it as much.
Swoosty is a must-have for Internet marketers though!
Cool. I will have to give it a try. Firefox user.
Is meta still working now a days?
I thinks google ignore the uses of meta tags in they SERPs
They certainly ignore keywords, but still pay attention to most all the rest.
Tilte text appears on the window title bar. There’s limited horizontal space so you would want the text to be as meaningful as possible upfront without overloading the title bar….
Really Coll Tools to analyze the site and it’s the time save tools for checking the manually
I think google doesnt use meta tag so it is not for me but thanks.
Google does look at meta tags, with exception to just the keyword meta. Your meta description tag is where Google will first look for a potential search result snippet.
Woah. lol.
Where did that idea come from? The “Title” and “Meta Description” are what get you website free clicks!
Guy.
come from is where
Pretty good tool for SEO’s it would be nice if they have better formatting on their page and option to export it in excel or pdf.
