diggita

Digging in Italy? Well here is a site for you, Diggita. It’s a slam dunk copy of the site Digg.com. It’s just like the site here in the U.S., but with a little bit of Italian style. I’m wondering if the guys at Digg are aware of it. It works so much like the original, I can only think that there is a Digg developer in the mix. There is one thing missing though, and that is the massive traffic Digg offers. Don’t get me wrong though, their traffic dwarfs this site in comparison. I just don’t think they will be crashing any sites with a lot of votes yet.

A Little Comparison

Instead of Digg it, you get Vota buttons, instead of popular you get prima pagina. Categorized like Digg, and works like Digg, you won’t be surprised to find the footer even looking like Diggs. Doing a little digging myself I found that it isn’t a total copy. I found that the strings are different for one. I found it interesting that if you look at the organize by day, week, year options, the site says things like “leri” for yesterday, but if you look at the string in the code it points to “yesterday”, not “leri”. Is their a Digg template out there?

I did a little more digging around to see if their was diggs like Diggita for other countries, but I didn’t have much luck. It could be that I am going to bed soon. Do you diggita in Itally? Help me out, I just submitted this post.

Votato!
