Either coding service companies are on the rise, or sheer coincidence has fallen upon me. I came across two reviewing some blogs this morning, and ran into a couple more right after lunch visiting my favorite webmaster forum.
One of the sites that caught my eye was xHTML Coding. The reason it caught my eye was their “Buy Now” button I found on their home page that was selling one of their blog design packages. The highlighted button gave me an idea.
Buying Now
When I first visit their site, or anybody’s site for the first time, it is highly unlikely I am going to just “Buy Now”. I want to read up on it, and at least get some basic info. In xHTML Coding’s example, I would most likely want to view the demo or read more about the package.
So my idea is this. Why not just make just two buttons, Buy Now, and Read More. You could put the demo information into the Read More page, but the good idea is highlighting the Read More button first. I would also cookie the visitors stay so after they visit the Read More page, Read More is no longer highlighted, Buy Now is.
I don’t know just and idea. Anyone doing something like this now?
