Privacy Policy for BestWebImage.com
The Privacy Policy is designed to assist you in understanding how I collect and use the personal information you provide, and to assist you in making informed decisions when using the site. On 8/28/07 I was made aware of COPPA. So for now on you must be at least 13 years of age to become a member of this site. You may still vote, but websites that are collecting information from children under the age of thirteen are required to comply with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). That means you need to be 13!
What Information Do I Collect?
When you visit the site there may be two types of information provided by you: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected on an individual basis, and web site use information collected on an aggregate basis as you and others browse the site. This information is either collected by myself, or advertisers who wish to know where their visitors are coming from.
When visiting this site know that they are two third party companies that track visitor action. The parties are Google, and Clicktale. The sessions only record activities made on this website, and in no way track your personal offsite usage. They track What computer (IP address), where you came from (the referring domain that led you here if applicable), and what pages you visited on the site. Clicktale additionally tracks mouse activity that occurs on site only. There may be periods of time where I do not use Clicktale at all.
Email Information
If you choose to correspond with me through email, I may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and my responses. I will not add your email to my newsletter, nor use/post it on the site unless you specifically request it. SPAM sent to BestWebImage.com is not a type of correspondence, and will be reported. Do not be surprised if I email you when you first join or make a comment. I like to personally welcome my new members or visitors.
Similar to other commercial Web sites, this Web site utilizes a standard technology called “cookies” (see explanation below, “What Are Cookies?”) and Web server logs to collect information about how the site is used. Information gathered through cookies and Web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at the site, and the Web sites visited just before and just after my site. What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a Web site, that site’s computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each Web site can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a Web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.
Your Privacy
Your privacy and security matters. When commenting on posts on this site your email is required, but this is mainly used as a method to prevent abuse. It is also a method for myself to contact or identify you if the comment needs editing. Purchases made on this site are done primarily through the use of PayPal to enhance your security removing myself from your privacy and security concerns.
